Bio

Adelaide educated, Barb attended SASA prior to travelling overseas. On returning she was employed by TAA airlines, organising Adelaide-based conferences, their tours and accommodation as required. In the early 70s she moved to Melbourne with her family. This was followed by four years in Sydney, returning to Adelaide in the early 80s, where she became a voluntary Education guide at AGSA and member of the FSASA Board. Barb also became involved with the Association of Australian Decorative and Fine Art Society (ADFAS), serving as a committee member of ADFAS Adelaide, and in 2010 joining the national executive of ADFAS as Chairman of the Lecturers Committee. This was again working in a voluntary capacity on behalf of the 34 Australian ADFAS societies. Barb and her committee organised all travel and accommodation for the 18 international Fine and Decorative art specialist lecturers that Barb contracted to tour the lecture circuits each year, finishing in 2014. Recently Barb has been mentoring new societies on behalf of the Association, and was pleased to see ADFAS Fleurieu become incorporated at the end of 2018.
