The Friends of SASA aim to promote the work, history, and development of the South Australian School of Art and its students using the outstanding expertise, experience and collegial nature of its past and present scholars and staff

The Friends of the South Australian School of Art Inc. was first formed in 2008 with the main aim of completing a history of the South Australian School of Art. The FSASA is a not-for-profit organisation and is managed by its Board in accordance with the requirements of its Constitution.

The Friends supports students of SASA through scholarships, its members and SA’s artists.

SASA HISTORY PROJECT

This Project was set up to develop a publication that traces the 170-year history of the South Australian School of Art. Written by Dr Jenny Aland, this publication, which is titled South Australian School of Art: 170-years shaping South Australian Visual Arts & Culture, is currently being published by Wakefield Press. It is expected to be available towards the end of 2023.

SCHOLARSHIPS

To date, the Friends of SASA have raised $41,000 towards scholarships for students studying at UniSA Creative: South Australian School of Art.
